Extended Vehicle Warranty
We offer comprehensive warranty coverage for your vehicle, comparable to the manufacturer’s warranty and other premium warranties. We also have powertrain coverage covering the vehicle’s critical components, such as the engine and transmission. When you get your online quote, we will email you a copy of our extended warranty policy details. You can also check our warranty page for more details about our program. Please get in touch with us for more information via chat, email, or phone at 1-844-712-2054.
We offer extended warranties for most new and used vehicle models. Vehicles up to 10 model years old with less than 200,000km are eligible. Try our quick online quote now to find out if you qualify.
We don’t offer warranty coverage for Porsche, Land Rover/Range Rover, AMG Mercedes, Audi S and RS models, Tesla, Ferrari, Maserati, Bentley, Jaguar, M Series BMW, Corvette, RAM TRX, Ford Raptor, or 1 Ton Trucks.
Yes. You can buy a warranty from Obvi at any time before the expiry of the manufacturer’s warranty. After that, the vehicle may require a valid inspection to qualify for coverage.
It’s important to remember that newer vehicles have lower rates and more extensive coverage options than older ones, so you don’t want to wait too long before locking in coverage.
You can take your car to any licensed repair facility in Canada or the continental United States. This includes dealerships and independent repair facilities. Once the repair is approved by us and complete, we will pay the shop for you via credit card. There is no need for shop pre-approval or to set up accounts; that way, you can go to any shop you choose. We would also be happy to recommend a shop if you are unsure where to go.
We provide our warranties online only. This ensures that you get the most significant savings and value. Our friendly service agents are available to help every step of the way.
No extra maintenance is required. Following your manufacturer’s recommended service guidelines is all you need to do. Regular oil changes and maintenance should keep your vehicle running in good condition. Keep a copy of your service records. That way, you always have a record of the vehicle being maintained. It’s good practice to save your service records for yourself and when selling your car.
Our warranty policies offer $0 and $100 deductible options. For more information, please refer to the terms and conditions of our policies.

You can also contact us online at our Make a Claim page. Have your repair facility contact us before proceeding with any repairs and diagnostics. We will pay them directly once the repair is complete.

All vehicles over 120,000km or not recently purchased from an OEM dealership or purchased privately require an inspection with an approved Obvi partner. We need to ensure that all vehicles we cover are safe to do so. By filtering out pre-existing issues, we can provide industry-leading claims service. If you have purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from an OEM dealership in the last 30 days and can provide a copy of their inspection report, you may not need another inspection.
Brand-new vehicles or vehicles with some remaining comprehensive manufacturer’s warranty (usually 3 years/60,000 km or 4 years/80,000 km) can get coverage without an inspection.
Get a quote for your vehicle before booking your inspection. That way, we can provide you with the best possible pricing and service. We can offer inspections with Fountain Tire in most areas of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. Connect with us on the live chat to find the nearest inspection facility, or fill out our form to book an inspection.
Certified mechanics perform a 147-point inspection, which you will receive via email. The inspection includes a thorough review of the vehicle’s mechanical, cosmetic and electrical systems, identifying any existing conditions, identifying potential safety and mechanical problems, and is taken on a short test drive.
If the inspection finds an issue that would be covered under our warranty, you will need to get it repaired. This doesn’t apply to excluded items such as tires, rims, or body panels.
Please refer to your warranty policy terms and conditions and contact us if you need to cancel your policy.
The first-in-service date is the day the first owner bought the vehicle. It’s also known as the original in-service or sale date. An in-service date is essential because that’s when the original manufacturer warranty begins. You can calculate when your original warranty expires if you know this date. After that expiry date, certain repairs are no longer covered unless you have an extended warranty. If you don’t know your car’s first in-service date, it is easiest to call a local dealership to get it. Most dealerships will have no problem giving you this information over the phone. CARFAX vehicle history reports will also give you the first in-service date, although they can sometimes be inaccurate.

New car replacement insurance
Your primary insurance will only pay you the vehicle’s Actual Cash Value (ACV) in a write-off. A new car can lose up to 50% of its value in four years. The policy helps protect your significant cash investment from this depreciation. It covers the difference between the cost of a new vehicle and the payout from your primary insurer, up to $60,000.
You can check your policy documents for claim procedures or contact claims@drivesure.ca. You can also contact us to find out the next steps.
The replacement Insurance policy includes coverage for the difference between the cost of a new vehicle and the payout from your primary insurer (up to $60,000) and total loss deductible reimbursement of up to $500. You can also add the following coverages:
- OEM Parts coverage: Your primary insurer may use recycled or aftermarket parts. Cover the difference and get OEM parts. Coverage of $10,000 for parts and $1,000 of labour per coverage period.
- Plus Package: One lost or stolen key fob replacement of up to $500. Partial loss deductible reimbursement up to $500, unlimited use. Extra rental car reimbursement if you exhaust coverage under your primary insurance plan.
- Diminished Value: Your vehicle loses resale value in a partial-loss claim even after it has been repaired. If repair costs are over 25% of the vehicle’s current value, you will qualify for a cash settlement of 10% of your vehicle’s current value.
- Loan Protection: Pays the remaining loan balance for a financed or leased vehicle when the total loss settlements from the primary insurer and your NVR do not satisfy the loan. The additional coverage will pay up to 25% of the vehicle’s replacement value or $30,000, whichever is less.
Note: the vehicle does not have to be a write-off for OEM parts, diminished value and Plus Package coverage to take effect.
Yes. The replacement insurance will only take effect in the event of a write-off. If you have any extra coverage options added, those will take effect according to the terms of the policy.
Yes. You can choose up to a 60-month plan, depending on the length of the policy. Pay by credit card or direct debit from your account.
